Traditional Bosnian music and practical workshops marked the opening of the first Scientology Volunteer Ministers exhibition in Sarajevo. The public exhibition welcomed visitors to a central square in the Bosnian capital as part of the European Goodwill Tour. When rain interrupted the outdoor opening, a local ensemble performed inside the exhibition's yellow tent. The music included sevdalinka, a distinctive Bosnian musical tradition internationally recognised for its cultural significance.

The educational displays introduced the public to 19 subjects from The Scientology Handbook, covering communication, parenting, learning and challenges in everyday life. Rather than relying only on written information, volunteers provided practical demonstrations. Sessions on Scientology assists, religious techniques intended to provide spiritual comfort rather than medical treatment, were among the most requested activities. According to organisers, 13 visitors reported applying what they learned with family members.

The Sarajevo visit followed five weeks of activities in Mostar after Volunteers the tour entered Bosnia and Herzegovina on 6 June 2026. The programme also has an earlier humanitarian connection with the country. Following the severe floods of 2014, Scientology volunteers helped residents clear damaged properties and recover agricultural facilities, including work at a flooded farm in Kopanica.

Developed in the mid-1970s by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, the Volunteer Ministers programme supports educational activities and assistance during disasters. It forms part of the Church of Scientology's ongoing social and volunteer programmes.

Ivan Arjona, representing the Church of Scientology before European and international institutions, linked the initiative to European principles of tolerance and voluntary service. "Sarajevo's history and cultural traditions remind us that helping others begins with respect for the people and communities around us," he said.

Following the exhibition, volunteers delivered another workshop for a local cultural association. The organisers reported additional interest in holding a similar session for more residents. The tour completed its Bosnian activities on 8 October 2026.
